Israeli Startup Tries to Figure Out What Coronavirus Sounds Like

Is it possible to detect coronavirus (Covid-19) by the sound of a patient’s voice? Israel’s Ministry of Defense is technology developed by voice analyses startup Vocalis Health on confirmed coronavirus (Covid-19) patients to see if the virus has a unique vocal fingerprint that can help with diagnosis, the company announced Tuesday.

技術を開発しているVocalis Health社は元々Beyond Verbal Communication社（2012年創業）とHealthyMize社（2015年創業）が2019年12月初旬に合併してできた企業。両社とも音声分析技術を保有し、病気の早期発見に役立てようとしていた。

合併企業は2019年末にCheckpoint社のCo-FounderであるMarius Nacht氏が主要LP出資家で、元政府の医療デジタル化を推進していたDr. Yair Schindel氏の率いるaMoon Velocity (※)より$9Mを調達している。
